Approach
My approach is trauma-informed, trauma-sensitive, and grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with an integrative lens that includes creative expression (optional) and parts work inspired by Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT is a mindfulness-based approach that helps individuals develop self-awareness and build psychological flexibility—the ability to stay present, open up to difficult emotions, and take action guided by personal values rather than knee-jerk reactions. . Rather than avoiding or fighting inner struggles and unwanted feelings, ACT supports people in accepting their thoughts and feelings while committing to behaviors that lead to a more meaningful life. This evidence-based therapy empowers clients to shift from being stuck in unhelpful patterns to living with greater authenticity, purpose, and resilience.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an evidence-based therapy that views the mind as made up of different “parts,” each with its own perspective, emotions, and role. Often, these parts develop in response to life experiences and may carry burdens (i.e., unhelpful beliefs, shame, or fear.) IFS helps clients gently explore and unburden these parts, guided by the core Self—an inner state characterized by calm, curiosity, and compassion. Through this process, individuals can heal internal conflicts, build self-leadership, and move toward greater emotional harmony and wholeness.
I have done several trainings in IFS but I am not certified as an IFS practitioner at this time.

Creative Expression
Creative expression offers a nonverbal pathway to explore emotions, release inner tension, and access parts of the self that may be difficult to express with words alone. Whether through art, writing, music, movement, poetry, or other forms of creativity, this approach can help individuals process trauma, clarify thoughts, and reconnect with their inner world in a safe and meaningful way. Engaging in creative expression fosters self-awareness, promotes emotional healing, and can cultivate a sense of agency and vitality, especially when traditional talk therapy feels limiting.
